Background: Bob was graduated from UNR in 1976, entered the US Army as an Armor Officer through ROTC and received a posting in Erlangen (FRG) as his first assignment (1-35 Armor). After attending Armor Officer Advance Course, he returned to Germany for an assignment in Wildflecken (1-68 Armor). His final active-duty assignment was at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was an instructor of German within the Department of Foreign Languages. In addition, he later served with the US Army Reserve and in a full-time capacity with the Nevada Army National Guard. Until recently, he was a business partner of JJ Fedorowicz Publishing, a publishing house that specializes in WW2-related titles, where he maintained the corporate web page and edited, translated and laid out books. He is now a freelancer and runs his own company, Battle Born Books & Consulting, which provides all of the services mentioned above.
Believe it or not, in his free time, Bob also likes this "stuff" as well.
He is single and available, ladies. He lives on the Emerald Coast of Florida, where the constant temptations of the beach, the sun, the sand and the pool make it difficult to focus on work.
Bob is available for free-lance work in translating (military German to English, preferably), editing and layout.
See the sidebar, if you are interested in Bob's collecting interests and items he presently has for sale or trade.
Uwe Feist bio...being written!
I have been interested in military history since I was about 10,
when war comics (mainly from England) were all the rage.
The book collecting started when I was about 15 and has continued ever since. My interests are pretty wide ranging - from the Campaigns of Napoleon, the American Civil War, the Crimea, World Wars 1 & 2, Korea, Vietnam and the Gulf. I do tend to concentrate mainly on the German armed forces in WW 2, however, with the emphasis on the Panzerwaffe and the Luftwaffe.
In 1993 I moved from Australia to Canada to join J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing Inc., as a director and shareholder. My tasks there included; book design and layout, photo scanning and enhancement, cover design, editing and research. I now have my own company- Battle Group Books - and I am very pleased to be able to continue working with Bob Edwards and also work with a true legend of military book publishing - Uwe Feist.
I am married with 4 children (2 boys, 2 girls - none of whom are the slightest bit interested in military history) and divide my time between Vancouver and Trail - which is in the interior of British Columbia.
Mike is available for freelance work, including fact-checking and research of armor- and aviation-related WW2 subjects, editing and layout work (from soup to nuts).
